We're back!

We apologize for not updating this blog for so long. Mostly because I've been busy and somewhat because I had completely forgotten that I had created this blog.
Quite a few events have been held since the last  post but I will, Inshaalah, post every time there is a new event and happenings in the association.
The next event being held is a Dars (talk on islamic topics) on the eleventh of July. It starts at then thirty, ends at around twelve and will be followed by lunch.
All members are welcome and if interested, comment below and I will write down the address of where it is being held.
I hope to see all of you members checking up on this blog more often and non-members to become members!

Mother's day 2010

The association is organizing a Mother's Day event this Sunday, 9th May 2010. It's being held at Eastin hotel from 12 p.m to 5 p.m. There will be cooking demonstrations and lunch as well as a best dressed competition, so come in your most extravegent dress! The event is open to all members as well as their friends and family.

This blog has been created to keep you up to date with the events and happenings at the Association of Pakistani Women in Malaysia (APWM). We welcome you to join us. Below are some of the details from the constitution of The Association of Pakistani Women in Malaysia.

NAME:
The name of the Society shall be known as PERSATUAN WANITA PAKISTAN DI MALAYSIA.

ADDRESS:
i) The registered place of business of the association shall be at:-
C/o: No:29, Lorong Terasik Kanan Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, or at such other place or places as may from time to time be decidedon by the Comittee

ii) The registered place of business of the society shall not be changed without prior approval of the Registrar Societies.

OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of the Society shall be to hold group discussions for the members of the Pakistani women's community and become acquanted with each other in a congenial and constructive atmospher and from time to time ogranize social and charitable activities which will benifit the local community.

MEMBERSHIP:
1. Membership shall be open to any Pakistani women or wife of Pakistani citizen residing in
Malaysia or non-permanent status; or Malaysian or pakistani origin of at least 18 years of
age, provide that a university or university-college student shall not be eligiblefor member-
ship without the prior approval of the VIce-Chancellor of the university concerned.

2. Every application for membership shall be proposed and seconded by two existing memb-
ers and shall be forwarded to the secretary who shall at the first convenient oppurtunity,
submit it to the committee for approval. The committee may at its discreetion reject any
application without assigning any rason therefore.

3. every applicant whose application has been approved as aforesaid shall, upon payment of
the prescribed entrance fee and first monthly subscription, be admitted as a member of
the Society shall be entitled to all the privelages of membership.

4. Honorary membership to be offered to all muslims who have rendered meritorious service
to the community by the committee irrespsctive of their being Pakistani or not will enjoy
all privelages but will not have voting rightsand who can give a donation to the Asociation.

5. Honorary membership will be conferred upon the President on completion of her term of
office as a token of appreciation for her service.

6. Honorary membership will be confered upon the past Patron.

7. The committee may offer the post of Honorary Member to the wife of High Commision of
pakistan in Malaysiaif and when ( the Committee) deems necessary.
